David Fraser
For seventeen straight years, David Frasier stood at the starting line of the New York City Marathon determined to do what many once told him he never could.
Born with Cerebral Palsy, every mile was harder for David than most runners could imagine. David does most of the marathon backwards out of his wheelchair pushing only with one foot. His muscles often tight with pain, but he showed up year after year anyway.
The crowds cheered louder each time they saw him. Not because he was the fastest runner on the course, but because he reminded everyone what perseverance truly looks like.
For David, finishing the marathon was never about beating other people. It was about proving that courage is simply taking one more step no matter how hard the road may be.
